Red Arrows Class - Year 1

Welcome to Red Arrows! We are a fantastic group of Year 1 children. We are taught by Mrs Ward on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Smith on Thursdays and Fridays. Keep checking back for updates of learning we are doing.

Summer Term 1

This term our PE sessions are on a Monday and Thursday so please come to school dressed in your PE kit.

New reading books and phonics homework will be sent out on a Friday.

English

This term we will be reading texts based around space. We will begin by identifying features of a non-fiction text and creating our own fact file about the moon. We will use our own ideas to write sentences using accurate punctuation.

Maths

We will begin the term by exploring basic multiplication. We will count in 2's, 5's, and 10's and explore making representations with concrete materials. We will move onto exploring fractions; recognising halves and quarters in a variety of contexts.

History

We will be studying Lincolnshire this term. We will identify Lincolnshire on the map and discuss the landmarks that can be seen around the county. We will learn about the history of the tank and explore Lincolnshire foods!
